5 Tools to Make Your Technology Life Easier and Portable

One way to stay efficient and effective with Social Media and keep in touch with what is happening in your business is to use certain technology tools designed to assist with this.

You don’t have to be a techno whiz to use any of these tools and they can really make a difference in your productivity. In these days of technology, our client and prospective clients list “responsiveness” as a key quality in those they do business with.

Own, use and master these tools and you will find your life easier to manage.

1. A Smartphone – these days, this is a necessity for any business. I know, what you may be saying, “Why do I need to be connected 24/7. I said the same thing and fought being so it for 3 years. It took me less than 24 hours to see how much more efficient I could be by using pockets of “dead time” while out and about to clean out junk email, answer short emails and make Social Media updates. These days, there is an “App” for just about everything you might need whether you are in real estate, insurance, or with a large, trendy company who is on top of things. These days, you’ll hear me singing how much I LOVE my iPhone.

2. Bluetooth for your car – as a California resident, it’s now illegal NOT to talk on the phone while driving without a blue tooth. This mode of hands free communication is another great tool for taking advantage of pockets of normally unproductive time to return phone calls and make prospecting calls. On a recent drive from Las Vegas to my home in Lake Arrowhead, California, I managed to return all of my phone calls and make prospecting calls for 3 hours, which allowed me to arrive home caught up, and able to relax with my family without that nagging feeling that I needed to return some calls.

3. Mobile HotSpot for your Laptop – like my cell phone, I wonder how I got by before my hotspot. It’s so nice to be able to set up anywhere and get some work done. Whether I am at the coffee shop, at the airport or doing a presentation in an office for business, it is so convenient to know I can be online at anytime to close a deal and sign up a client, etc. I use a MiFi device offered by Verizon. And there are many, so do some research.

4. Pocket Video Camera – since video is a hot part of the business model these days, and depending on your type of business, carrying a small, pocket size camera where you can snap a video and quickly upload it on the spot to YouTube, or any other video site as well as Facebook and other social sites is a great way to be efficient and effective. I use a Flip, which is now obsolete, but check your local Best Buy, or Amazon.com to see what is trending. Make sure it plugs right into your computer and comes with software editing to make it really simple.

5. Laptop – like the wireless hotspot, these days it just makes sense to carry a laptop while you are out and about for business. Depending on your type of business, you’ll often find this can streamline business by allowing you to process contracts, write proposals and take care of all types of business on the spot!

Take charge of technology and harness it’s power for success in your business!

EXPECT Success!

Jackie I would add a six item. A livescribe smartpen. Write notes and the computer coverts to PDF or a Word Doc and also have a voice recording of the seminars with notes. For a blind guy using this with Dragon it is awesome duo to go to conventions or learning seminars.
If the blindguy can use them anyone can!
