How to Create Leads and Prospects for Your Business Online

You know traditional methods of advertising and marketing your business are changing, right? Newspapers and magazine subscriptions are drying up; people watch more YouTube video than the top ten Network TV shows; and who uses the phone book anymore?

More and more people are going straight to the Internet to find answers; to find businesses; to find YOU, even if they don’t know they are looking for you!

Here are some statistics to show you how powerful the Internet has become

As of July, 2010, Facebook has over 500,000,000 users.

If Facebook were a country, it would rank as #3 in the World in terms of population.

YouTube is now the 2nd largest Search Engine, right behind Google and now ahead of Yahoo.

People are much more likely to take the recommendation of a friend over an advertisement.

And, here is one very important concept to keep in mind – we’re influenced and motivated by each other to do things.

This means that marketing your business, your products, and ultimately yourself using Social Media sites can create a storm of business.

Seth Godin noted in his book “Meatball Sundae” – As social networks become more powerful, consumers will gravitate to each other, not just informing each other about their experiences but banding together into unions that will pressure organizations for more of what consumers want.

The question is no longer “if” you should be on the web, interacting with your customer and “would be customers”, it’s “how fast will you get there; how consistent will you be; and how much value will you add?”

Good marketing is like a funnel, and the more funnels you have out there (website, blog, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) the more you will filter through.
